Ways to Incorporate Your Personality in Your Wardrobe

What you wear is a unique way to display your personality. Rather than being bland and boring, use your wardrobe to make a lasting impression about who you are before you even open your mouth.

Color says a lot about the type of person you are. If you tend to stick with neutral toned down colors, it conveys a message that you are safe and cautious. So if you want to convey a message that you are fun and lively, a pop of color is the way to go. A yellow yells bright. A burgundy screams sultry. An orange conveys warmth. Pick a color or colors that work well for your skin tone and use those colors to accentuate who you are.

Patterns can be tricky to incorporate into the wardrobe, but implementing a pattern is usually worth the risk. Patterns speak volumes and are fun ways to allow your personality to flourish. Some people use patterns to display things that they like (i.e. a floral print to convey a love of flowers). Other people use patterns as a way to convey that they are playful (i.e. a zig-zag or checkered pattern on a handbag or bracelet). Still others simply use patterns as a way to quietly camouflage those less than flattering areas. Whatever the case, a pattern here or there (not all over) is a good way to let the real you shine through.

Accessories in and of themselves are meant to add flair to your outfits. So why not capitalize on their purpose by allowing your accessories to speak on your behalf about the type of person you are. Handbags, shoes, jewelry, scarves; the list of options to showcase your personality goes on and on. If you are a sporty individual, then wear some trendy sneakers to display that. If you consider yourself to be whimsical, wear a scarf with a nifty pattern. If you are more of the sophisticated type, then add a structured handbag to your look. Let your accessories be the icing to top off your look.

Taking risks with your wardrobe can be scary, but when done right the reward is worth the risk. Be bold and daring with your clothing and accessories and people will be saying nothing but good things about you and your clothes.
