Acne-Prone skin and skin blemishes are caused by both internal and external factors. So first, lets take a look at these factors…

Internal factors include:
1. Excess sebum (oil) production that happens during puberty, ending of contraceptive use and pregnancy.
2. Genetic predisposition
3. Mental condition

External factors include:
1. Working environment
2. Comedogenic or too oily skincare products
3. Medication
4. Stress

Acne-prone skin needs special care and it’s recommended to consult with dermatologist if its serious. Some products can help for mild acne problems or oily inflammation, choosing the right product is important as you do not wat to dry out the skin. Here are the points that need to pay attention for choosing the right product:

1. Cleanser
The cleanser should be mild, effective sebum reducing and antibacterial product, the product also should mention that it can help to retain skin’s moisture. Soaps should be avoided at all cost as they tend to leave fatty acids on the skin surface, which causes “comedones”, otherwise known as white heads.

2. Toner
Toner should contain antibacterial agent to help refresh, revitalize, prepare skin for further use of skin care product and double clean the impurities.

3. Moisturizer:

Moisturizer should be non-greasy, light weight and have a mattifying effect on shiny skin. Look for a product that could help to regulate excess sebum (oil) and balance skin texture.
