It’s definitely high time for me to do a nail post. I’ve been doing tips, beauty, sometimes exercise posts and tutorials but I’ve never really done a nail post so it’s time to change it up.
I was in a similar “changing” mood a few weeks before the new year arrived. I decided to change my hair color — not too from the previous color I had on my hair. I went for a bubble hair dye, of course, because it’s the easiest to put on. Along with the bubble hair dye I chose came a nail polish freebie.
ESTILO. I haven’t really heard of the company before but I did do my research and it’s a company from Korea (it says so in the bottle). I attempted to visit the website that’s on the bottle but I guess it’s not working anymore. Nonetheless, the swatch continues.
I put on one coat of polish to see how it pans out.
I have to admit that at first glance, I thought it was an O.P.I nail polish. The packaging is very similar — the shape of the bottle and the cover. It’s an effective way of getting people to notice, if you asked me (an O.P.I freebie? too good to be true though).
In the pictures, it kind of looks silvery but it’s actually more of a light pink. It’s almost similar to the color of the glitter on this picture:
I love the color because it’s pink and glittery, enough said. It’s beige pink too and I like colors that are not so loud.
It wasn’t completely opaque (only one coat) and the application wasn’t what I was expecting. I was expecting the polish to go on smoothly similar to the O.P.I ones since they were the same shape but… no luck.
I’m giving it a 5 out of 10. I like the color a lot (it’s very pretty). You do need two coats so your nail doesn’t show through.
Nail polishes with this type of color and consistency will work great as an accent to a another color (base color). I do have to vary my blog posts a bit so I might do a DIY nail art tutorial with this color.
