DIY Eye Cream Recipe #1: Almond Powder-Milk Eye Therapy

Did you know that the skin under your eyes — the area that gets black and/or puffy — is very sensitive? In fact, it’s the most sensitive area on your face! That’s exactly why you need to take extra care of it. If you already have darkness and baggies on there, extra extra care is definitely needed.

Using beauty creams, gels and solutions may not always be the answer to good under eye skin care, and plus they cost a bit much. As an option, you could always make your own eye cream. The best part about this is, it’s effective and the ingredients may already be in your kitchen.

There are dozens of recipes for dark circles and recipes for puffiness to try out but let’s start with something simple, something as simple as combining two ingredients. Here’s how to make your very own Almond Powder-Milk Eye Therapy cream.

Almond Powder-Milk Eye Therapy

This won’t be something complicated, don’t worry. You’ll be needing:

Two ingredients:

  • Almond Powder
  • Milk

Some Tools:

  • Mixing container (it could be a small bowl or even a coffee mug)
  • Something to mix with (this can anything from a spoon to a stick)

That’s it! All that you need to remember is that your tools need to be clean, of course, and you have to choose a container that you can keep your eye stuff in because for sure, you won’t be able to finish all of it in one go.

You basically have 3 steps to follow:

1. Put some almond powder in your container.

2. Pour a bit of milk in it after.

3. Mix until you get a fine pasty consistency.

The amount for each ingredient will depend on how much eye cream you want. A good tip would be to start with small amounts on your mixing container and the gradually add a little bit to the mix until you get your desired amount and consistency.

Once you have everything mixed well and the consistency is a fine paste, you can now try out your new cream. Put a bit of it under your eyes. The mixing won’t take long but you do need to let the cream stay under your eyes for about 15mins.

After that, you can rinse it with water. Simple. Quick. Easy.

Think of your cream as food. Well, technically it is, so it should be stored as such. When you still have a lot left, you can put it in the refrigerator for the mean time.

This is the main reason why you need to make your eye cream in small amounts. Just to be safe, make sure that you make a fresh batch every 3 days or less. This is not a definite number but making your eye cream fresh is always a good idea.

Who needs this eye cream?

Remember when we said that there are a hundred recipes to try out? This is just one of them and the main benefit of the Almond Powder-Milk Eye Therapy is lightening those dark under-eye circles.

There are several benefits that Almond has on the skin. They include: reducing fine lines and wrinkles, a major source of vitamin E. Milk, on the other hand, is very well known for softening, moisturizing and making the skin glow.

From Eye Cream to Mask

Since the Almond Powder-Milk Therapy cream has a lot of benefits, you can also use this as a mask. For sure, you’ll have a lot left over because you only need a bit under your eyes. If enough is left to cover your entire face, why not?
