DIY Birthday Idea – The Princess & The Spa

Have you ever thought of celebrating your birthday in the spa? I haven’t though about it too then, but a when I found out that a nail place in my city offered Sparty (Spa Party) Packages a month before my birthday, it was a done deal. If you’re planning to have your own Sparty anytime soon, here’s what you need to do:

The cake has to be chocolate.

Choosing the Right Spa

This is the first thing that you need to do: choose a place with the right ambiance and the right services. You have to consider the following:

  • Location of the spa
  • Interior of the spa – think about the decorations that you’re going to do and the theme you’re going to have.
  • Services of the spa
  • Price of the services
  • Invitations – also the number of people to attend.
  • Refreshments
  • Games or Activities (optional)
  • Party favors (optional)

The location has to be accessible to everyone so it’s easy to get to. You wouldn’t want for your guests to NOT attend because the venue is too far or too difficult to reach.

Check to see if the spa has enough space for the number of people you want to invite. You also have to think of a theme for your party or, if you don’t want to have a theme, decorations you’re going to set up. Thinking of what decoration to put up will be easier once you already have a plan in mind.

Sparty Decorations

Theme at my party: The Princess and The Spa

Decoration elements: The color pink, crowns, mason jars, paper doillies, tissue paper flowers and balloons.

Spa Services & Prices

This part could be tricky if you’re on a budget so have to be smart in choosing the services.

The aim is for everyone to relax so inquire about the services your chosen spa has. You can opt for: mani+pedi, pedi+footspa or just plain footspa. I would recommend going for the mani+pedi combination as this is a necessity for most women.

While you’re at it, you might as well ask for the amount of time needed for a Sparty. The nail place we went to allowed 2 full hours of pampering. It wasn’t enough though so we ended up extending for another hour.

Making an invitation is not as intimidating as you think. Again, you can always go to the ever reliable Pinterest for free printable invites that you can edit. Include catchy lines, address of the venue, directions, number to contact, time of the party and so on.

Refreshments, Games, Favors

Aim for light snacks. At my party, we had sandwiche rolls, a cream puff and a mini cupcake. It’s important for the food to have the same theme as your party so decorate it with signs and colorful plates.

Snacks at the SpartyMy party favors were wooden forks and pretty ties for the hair. I didn’t really have games but I did have sheets of paper where my friends and family could put their birthday wishes for me.
