A make-up tutorial: The colors of spring

Spring is a time for sunshine, flowers and bright colors. It’s also a time for you to do the same with your makeup and outfit. Here’s a simple How-To makeup tutorial to getting that fresh, glowy, pinkish, springtime look with bright and colorful eyes.

Step 1: Foundation

Check out our guide to choosing foundation and applying foundation for you to know the basics. For this step, we want our foundation to look as natural as possible so try putting your foundation on using your fingers, using a stippling brush or a foundation brush.

Step 2: Concealer

Conceal under eye circles and any areas that need it: around the mouth, on pimple scars, the chin, etc. You can also put a bit of concealer on your lid and under your brow bone.

Step 3: The brows

We’re skipping putting powder on for setting because we want dewy skin. For a fresh, natural look go for thicker eyebrows. They don’t have to be really thick but a bit thicker than usual. If you already have thick eyebrows then you can just fill them in using a brow pencil or shader that’s about 3 shades lighter than your hair color.

Step 4: The fun part! Colorful eyeshadow!

We’d wants something that’s totally wearable and too avante garde. Choose bright colors that compliment your eye color. Here peach, brown (tan) and turquoise will be used. You can choose any color that you like of course.

Apply the peach color all over your eyelids. Apply a bit of turquoise to your crease. Blend everything out so there are no harsh lines and then use the tan-ish brown to blend all the colors together. Next, take a shimmery pink color and then apply then on the inner part of your eye and under your brow bone.

Tight Line your eyes with whatever eyeliner you have with you. Visit our how to apply eyeliner perfectly article to see what tightlining is. You can go for a brown or black eyeliner, or to spruce things up, go for something with a different color — like green or blue. Curl your lashes, next, and then put on your mascara.

Step 5: Blush

For this look, it’s best to go for a peach pink kind of blush so it can compliment your eyes. Apply blush on the hollows of your cheeks. Apply the same shimmery pink eyeshadow on your cheeks highpoints to give you more of that dewy finish.

Step 6: The lippie

For this look we want something natural so the best lip color would be something that’s close to your original lip color. Applying a lip liner is optional but it’s recommended to get that perfect lip shape. After your lip liner, apply on your lipstick. Take a same shimmery pink eyeshadow you used earlier and apply some on your cupids bow to highlight it.

AND DONE! The eye shadow application part needs a lot of practice and patience; especially with blending. Be patient and don’t be afraid to experiment.

Enjoy your natural and fresh springtime look! Have fun!
