We’re just a couple of weeks into the New Year and it’s still not too late to make a few additional resolutions you can do to cover your beauty routines. We bet you haven’t thought of making beauty resolutions, have you? It’s time to make a few changes! Read the following beauty resolutions and see which applies to you (or which one are you most guilty of):
Always Hit the Pan
If you’re a true makeup junkie, you’ll know what “hit the pan” means. A pan is the container that houses several makeup products like powders, blushes, bronzers, eye shadows and etc. You’ll know that you’ve hit the pan when you’ve been using a particular product so much that you start seeing the silver part at the bottom.
Makeup junkies love hoarding makeup and they’re pretty much guilty of buying too many without even finishing off the last similar product. Try to avoid doing this in 2016. This means you!
Try Not to Sleep on Your Makeup
A sin! It’s a sin, I tell you! Never sleep on your makeup because it’s bad for your skin. Your pores get clogged and it’s highly likely that you’re going to smear all your makeup unto your pillow. As a resolution, always practice a solid skincare routine especially when you always put on makeup.
Explore Makeup Removers
This is to supplement the resolution you have about not sleeping on your makeup. If you always get home late and you’re too tired to wash your face off, make sure that you have other makeup removing options like: makeup removing wipes or pads. A really good makeup remover lotion does the trick as well. Although it would be much better to clean your face with soap and water, makeup removers are the next best thing. Just make sure you thoroughly wash your face in the morning.
Wash Your Brushes Regularly
Raise your hand if you don’t have a regular schedule for washing your brushes! You have to wash your makeup brushes at least once a week. It’s no fun but it’s a must because you have no idea how much dirt and oil your brushes accumulate! They might be the reason why you’re breaking out so consider washing and disinfecting them on a regular basis.
How long have you had that lipstick? If it’s been a couple of years already, it’s time to throw that thing away! Did you know that your mascara is just supposed to last 3 months? Imagine what that expired mascara can do when it comes in contact with your eye!
Aside from buying unnecessary makeup products, you should also consider throwing out the makeup items you’ve had for years. Check the expiration date and see which ones you can keep and which ones you need to let go of. Be honest! Expired makeup is not going to be good for your skin and it sure as heck won’t be good for your health.
